Seeking Inspiration

A few days back I did something terrible. I browsed through my own blog posts! And I've been wallowing in self-pity since. In an invigorated mood, I possibly wrote about The Quest for an Idea, but I now realise how difficult it is to get into that particular frame of mind where Ideas begin to flow. I could say that lately I have become a sort of Zombie. I need to be released from this state of bondage. But I feel completely dispirited.

I begin to ponder about motivational tools. Music, I find has been very useful most of the times. Nothing to match the intoxication that I had with Science, Astronomy and Physics. The mind worked overtime with thoughts back then. Ah! I miss those days.
Hobbies have come and gone by the dozens. Now they are like long-lost friends with whom I do not wish to chat on Instant Messengers.

Photography now remains my only link to that wonderful world that spurns out inspirational moments. A few weeks back I woke up at 4:30 a.m to capture some good photographs with the Sun rising on the shores of the Marina Beach. I raced my bike against the light that was eating away the darkness, but nothing is faster than light! In a despondent mood, I took the following image. Had no idea it would turn out to be so good.

Early morning dip

The Golden colours of the water, the way the waves slowly build up, and the fearless manner in which the guy braces the waters is daunting and humbling at the same time. It inspired me for a while, but now I am despondent yet again. I seek inspiration.

Salvation lies within - as the movie 'Shawshank Redemption' says (both literally and figuratively). Of course, it is easier said than done. May be picking up an old hobby again might help. Mridangam? :)
